POP before SMTP replaced with SMTP AUTH

When doing our IP changeover last night of the mail systems we encountered troubles with our ancient POP before STMP server that forced us to retire it to the scrap heap. So for now, we're stuck with our SMTP AUTH SMTP servers, which is probably a good thing anyway.
