DC2 Router Failure

This morning's outages were caused by an intermittent failure of an ethernet interface on the router. We trunk the connection between the router and the top-level switch so that an interface dropping should not be an issue, but the way the trunk works, if any of the interfaces are having errors, the interface having the errors is not considered down... and as such it's better for the card to fail completely than the way it did today...
