Fileserver Hiccup

One of the backup processes on the /home1 fileserver went into an infinite loop this morning around 5 AM, PST. It drove up the load and eventually used up so many resources we couldn't log into the fileserver to fix it. We just went ahead and restarted the fileserver, but as a result of the disconnection many of the users with their home directories in /home1 experienced an outage. We apologize for the trouble!
