| Microsoft Outlook Express: Server terminiated the connection: Error 0x800CCC0F |
| Answer |
The specific text when trying to send is:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this
include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account:
'mail.kattare.com', Server: 'mail.kattare.com' Protocol: SMTP, Port: 2525, Secure(SSL):
Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
Microsoft's error neglects to mention that Outlook Express just can't both change
the port number AND use SSL on outgoing connections.
Either change the port back to port 25, or if your ISP blocks outgoing traffic on
port 25, then you'll have to turn off SSL.
