Setting up an IMAP account with Microsoft Outlook
Go to the Tools menu and click on "Email Accounts".
Select "Add a new e-mail account" and click next.
Select IMAP and click next.
Enter your name in the "Your Name" field.
Enter your email address in the "E-mail Address" field.
Note: This is the Name and address that is displayed in the from field when the receipient
opens the email.
Enter your mail account login in the "User Name" field.
Enter your mail account password in the "Password" field.
Do NOT check "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
Enter mail.kattare.com in the "Incoming mail server (IMAP)" field.
Enter mail.kattare.com in the "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" field.
Click on "More Settings".
Under the Outgoing Server tab check the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication".
Click OK.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
--------------
This will 'subscribe' you to your inbox only. If you have other folders that you want to manage with IMAP
you can follow the following instructions.
From the Tools menu select IMAP folders.
Type in ~/mail and click on Query.
This will display all the folders.
Select the folder you want to subscribe to and click on "Subscribe".
You can keep going through the list and subscribing to as many folders as you want and when your done
click "OK".
--------------
One thing you may notice is that with IMAP when you delete a message a line appears through it. At this
point the email can still be restored and the file still remains on the mail server. To permantly
delete these messages from both Outlook AND the mail server on the Edit menu, click "Purge Deleted
Messages".
