The /home1 fileserver at dc1 crashed this morning
around 3 AM, PST. There was a kernel panic due to a
filesystem error. The outage was especially long
because we had to scan the filesystem before we could
bring it back online.
The scan found a couple errors and corrected them. It
had been nearly two years since the last scan, so over
that length of time it is normal to find a couple of
inconsistencies.
Of course, please let us know if you find something
that seems completely out of wack, we do have full
backups on hand.
If you're not sure if you were affected or not, you can
find out by logging in via ssh and doing the pwd
command. If you see /home1 in the output, you were
affected.
