Network Maintenance - 6/24/2008
Kattare will be doing some miscellaneous low-impact
maintenance this evening. There should be no customer
outages as a result.
- We will be adding a redundant management card to
sw5.cvo2.kattare.net that will restore redundancy to
the uplink to ir1.cvo2.kattare.net

- We will be adding a redundant management card to
sw1.cvo2.kattare.net. This will create redundancy in
case the first management card fails. This should be
able to be done with the switch live, but it may need
to be rebooted. This switch boots very quickly, so if
it is necessary, the reboot will last less than 10 seconds.

- We will be doing some facilities work in the data
center. This will involve restructuring some of our
cable raceway and adding some new runs.

POSSIBLE MAINTENANCE
---

We may be creating some additional fiber-optic links
between redundant management cards on the switch
backbones to create some additional redundancy in the
system. This will reduce or eliminate human
intervention in the event of some corner-case outage
scenarios.
