Network Maintenance Results
Kattare Network Engineering completed maintenance early
morning US PST. These changes should not have impacted
customer services.
Work Performed:

-- Upgraded Foundry FastIron switch software on
ir1.cvo2.kattare.net to 8.0.01pT51

-- Upgraded Foundry FastIron switch software on
sw1.cvo2.kattare.net to 8.0.01pT51

-- Deployed for service a new switch: sw5.cvo2.kattare.net

-- Installed second SFP module in ir2.cvo2.kattare.net
to restore redundancy on the gigabit ethernet uplink

-- Replaced 10' BNC cables on the MCI and AT&T DS3
circuits on br1.cvo2.kattare.net with proper 15' versions.

-- Minor cable cleanup on br1.cvo2.kattare.net,
ir2.cvo2.kattare.net, and ir1.cvo2.kattare.net

Known Issues:

sw5.cvo2.kattare.net port e1/2 seems to be bad.
Network Engineering is awaiting a replacement card.
Until such time redundancy on the uplink to
ir1.cvo2.kattare.net is impaired.

Notes:

Summertime is traditionally when a lot of the heavy
duty network maintenance is done at Kattare, so we have
a few projects on the way that we'll try to keep you
apprised of. Among other things, Kattare will be
dabbling in IPv6 services on an experimental basis, so
if anyone has an interest, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks for your patience, and please feel free to
contact me if you have any network questions or problems.
